Before 'She Ate That', There Was 'Y2Gay'!

As this week’s Drag Race UK Girl Group Challenge hit our screens, we couldn’t help but think back to our own iconic girl group moment - Y2Gay by the Queens of Revenge ft. Toby Lawrence.

Released in 2022 for our legendary Y2Gay New Years Eve Party, this high-energy track brought together some of Brighton’s fiercest drag performers, with the vocal contributions of Ex-Girlfriend, Alik, Peanut, and Drag Race UK’s Season 7 star Tayris Mongardi!

The Making of Y2Gay 💿

Back in 2022, Revenge closed out the year in true Brighton style; with throwback anthems, Y2K looks and a whole lot of queer joy. Our resident DJ Toby Lawrence teamed up with the Queens of Revenge to create Y2Gay. Blending 00’s elements with our Queen’s original lyrics, the track captures the true spirit of Revenge – camp, iconic and totally extra.

The track was performed again at the Titans Season 1 Finale in 2024 as Y2Gayer, featuring a verse from Glew!

Tayris has been a part of Revenge's family for the best part of a decade, joining the team afrer winning Lip Sync For Your Life Season 5 in 2017. From dancing on our balcony over Pride, to hosting Karaoke, Lip Sync For Your Life and now Titans - Tayris is an absolute powerhouse and lights up the stage every. single. time. 🔥

We're so incredibly proud to see Tayris grow over the years, and to finally see her recognised on the UK's biggest drag platform. We know she's one to watch!
